VIII. Fourfold Double-Cross (or Star-Cross) Watermark. Four double crosses branching diagonally from an orb.
Horizontally, the motif repeats at intervals corresponding approximately to the width of the Harvester-format stamps, while vertically it is repeated more closely than the normal stamp spacing. The motif measures 17.5 × 19 mm.
The watermark occurs in both upright and sideways orientations, and its orientation can be determined on every stamp. Owing to its two-axis symmetry, however, no distinct watermark position can be determined.
Possible watermark orientations
- A: upright fourfold double-cross motifs;
- B: sideways fourfold double-cross motifs.
