XI. Kossuth Coat of Arms Watermark. Upright and inverted coats of arms alternating in vertical columns.

Depending on the format of the stamp, the watermark appears in either an upright or sideways orientation. The exception is Chain Bridge Souvenir Sheet III, on which both orientations occur. The watermark position can be determined on every stamp. In each orientation, two positions can be distinguished—normal and mirrored—according to the position of the double cross.

Possible watermark orientations and positions

• A1: upright and inverted coats of arms, with the double cross on the right;
• A2: upright and inverted coats of arms, with the double cross on the left;
• B1: coats of arms lying to the left and right, with the double cross on the right;
• B2: coats of arms lying to the left and right, with the double cross on the left.
